Sizzlers and barbecues at Rodeo Grill = Delicious!

Yeeeeha! as what cowboys would yell. The outdoors has always been fun. Adventure, travel and food! What food!? Sizzling meat and barbecue!

Rodeo Grill has been called such because often times, when barbecues or sizzlers are mentioned, they refer to the outdoors and what best of represents the outdoors? Cowboys!

Rodeo grill offers you western style food but with a touch of Filipino in it. So the ultimate questions here is: Is it good? Is it affordable?

Let us go ahead and go into the details.

Customer service

Entering the venue and even asking where I am supposed to be seated, the service crew greeted me with a smile. This is something really essential in customer service as a simple smile can make the whole experience different in a positive way. They look very friendly and very approachable.

The Place

The place makes you feel at home. It's cozy, a touch of the western culture and really comfortable to be in.

I really felt the "outdoors". I mean, it's like eating somewhere near a ranch but indoors which is a good thing since this is basically what we should sorta feel. The service crew are all dressed up in their cowboy outfit. It really adds to the environment.

The Food

Rodeo grill has executive chef Kai to make sure that the food is served in perfection. Chef Kai is a culinary arts graduate, cooked in Doha for the king and also has cooked in Texas He is now with Rodeo Grill to bring goodness to our tummy! (Awesome chef!)

Let's go to what we are really after. The food! Check these out for yourself!

Iced Coffee - Coffee used is Kirkland Coffee. Not too strong, just the right taste.

Tennessee Sizzling Shrimps. Sauted in garlic sauce. The garlic sauce has really that garlic taste! You will instantly taste the garlic. Delicious.

I see you drooling, you garlic lover!

All time Filipino Favorite, the Crispy Pata!

Texas Sizzling Chicken. One of my favorite. The chicken is tender, juicy, well seasoned and super delicious served with gravy. Truly something to try.

Arkansas Tender Ribs - Gurl Size.

Arkansas Tender Ribs - Man Size. The ribs are super tender, super flavorful and super juicy! Gotta have this!

Sgt. Pepper Sizzler. Truly a best seller. Sizzling pork served with gravy. Full of flavors, tender and juicy.

Tortang talong with a touch of Texas!

Cowboy burger. The price is 219 and this has a buy 1 take 1 promo when you purchase this from 3PM to 5PM. Meat patty is so tender and full of flavor.

One thing that surprised me is that the patty was cooked medium which I find really awesome because not a lot of burger resto offers such cooking. You may order them from rare to well done.

Choco bang bang. Truly the dessert to have! Served with Ice cream and warm brownie. The brownie just explodes in your mouth!

Blueberry cheesecake. I really like this as the cheesecake is not too sweet which is a good thing for me.

All the good food! Honestly, all the food is really delicious. I am not just saying it. It is really, really good!

Price

Ah, the Mr. Frugal specialty. The price! You know me, if the price is right, it's all good and I really think that the price is right so it's all good! Check the prices below:

The price, the food, the flavors, they are all good! You also have chef Kai to ensure the goodness of each food. For the price, it is all worth it! You cannot go wrong in Rodeo Grill.

I could go all day babbling how good the food is but the best judge for that is you! Yes, you! I encourage you to try it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed!

Taste China in Cebu at Tin Gow

There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in Cebu but which one does the Chinese really like? Let us go ahead and review TIN GOW

Chinese food has always been known to be really good. In fact, it is so good that it has impacted our diet in a lot of ways. We see the siomai and siopao in the streets. Spring rolls readily available in every Chinese restaurant. Noodles here and there and a lot more.

With all the Chnese restaurant out there, so far, Tin Gow really hits the spot. In my list of Chinese restaurants, this is my top choice at the moment!

Why is it so good? Let us break this down:

Place

Completely stunning, feels authentic and really feels comfortable.

On top of that, there is a constant Chinese song being played in the background. It honestly made me feel a bit home. (If you live in a contemporary Chinese culture, you'll understand hehe)

The Food

Simply delicious. The chef has been cooking here in the Philippines for more than a decade. He is half Malaysian, half Chinese.

Served with complimentary nuts and chili garlic sauce.

Complimentary tea

Prawn served with fruit salad. Trust me, it may sound like a wierd combination but it really works out. It is so delicious!

Soup with egg mixed with spinach.

Home made bean curt with mushrooms. This is one of my favorites specially the burn curd.

The bean curd is home made. Not sold in the market nor anywhere. It is super soft and really, really delicious.

This is the very crispy fried pork with sweet and sour sauce. The pork is thinly sliced and the batter really makes the pork super crispy. You'll actually hear the the crunchy sound once you eat it.

Beef with broccoli. Yum!

Dessert!

The food overall is really, really good! My favorite would be the bean curd and the crispy pork. You got to try these when you come here at Tin Gow.

Price

I will be honest, the price is not your everyday price but just like in our diet, there are some cheat days. It is the same here, sometimes, we go off on budget, it's a cheat day from being frugal. So if you will eat here, prepare a very healthy budget and it will be very rewarding.

Mr. Frugal says...

The food is really good. I really had a good experience at Tin Gow. The staff are really nice and very accommodating. The place has that kind of feel that you are somewhere in China or at least, at a place where the Chinese usually hangs out.

Again, this is what I consider as a cheat day for my budget so if you wanna eat here, prepare a budget that goes beyond your usual but it is very, very satisfying and you will truly not be disappointed with the food.
